Honolulu's McLachlin shares 17th in Pacific Coast Amateur

PARKER MCLACHLIN

Honolulu's Parker McLachlin fired a third-round 73 yesterday at the 37th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship.

McLachlin is tied for 17th at 2-over-par 212. He is 16 shots behind leader James Lepp (66-196), who has won the last two British Columbia amateur titles and has a victory on the Canadian Tour.

The tournament is being played at Capilano Golf & Country Club in West Vancouver, Canada. The final round is today.

RADIO

Leahey's sports show: Hawai'i sportscasters Jim and Kanoa Leahey will launch a new father-son sports radio show, "Leahey & Leahey," Aug. 26, on KKEA 1420 AM.

The hour-long show will run Tuesday evenings beginning at 7:30.

The live call-in show will include high school sports as well as commentary on pertinent Hawai'i sports stories with a father-son twist.
