Water polo event to feature teams from around globe

The 35th Annual Hawaiian Invitational Water Polo Tournament begins its seven-day run Sunday.
There will be 25 teams from Hawai'i and 65 teams from around the world, including Australia, Japan, Canada, California, Washington and Oregon.
The matches will be held at the University of Hawai'i's Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex and Punahou School's Waterhouse Pool.
The competition will feature male and female teams, competing in classifications from age 9 to open. There also will be coed teams.
There is no admission fee.
SWIMMING
Waikiki event set: The 34th Annual Waikiki Roughwater Swim will be Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. The course will start from the Kapua Channel, at the Outrigger Canoe Club, and will end at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel Channel.
The entry fee is $20 if postmarked by Aug. 20; $30 if postmarked after. Make checks payable to Waikiki Roughwater Swim. Late entries will also be accepted at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Aug. 31.
Entry forms can be obtained by mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope to: WRSC, P.O. Box 2847, Wailuku, HI, 96793. Entry forms can be sent to the same address.
