Debate on God to be Sept. 10

Victor Stenger, an astrophysicist and professor emeritus of the University of Hawai'i, and philosopher-theologian William Lane Craig, a research professor at Talbot School of Theology will be on opposite ends of "The Great Debate: Is There a God?"
The free Waterhouse/Youth For Christ lecture will be at 7 p.m. on Sept. 10 at the UH Campus Center Ballroom. The first segment of "The Great Debate" will follow a traditional format, followed by a 30-minute period of questions from the audience.
The lecture series is a partnership of the Alec and Belle Waterhouse Lecture Series and Hawaii Youth For Christ. Debater profiles and additional information are expected to be available Monday at www.TheGreatDebateHawaii.com. Call 946-1300.
Conference for men planned
The "Men Under Reconstruction" conference and camp for men will be Aug. 20 to 23 at Camp Mokule'ia.
Sponsored by the Kingsmen, a Christian men's group, speakers will be Terry Mize, a missionary and author, and Jess Gibson, a motivational speaker who preaches about applying God's word to business.
The fee for the four-day camp is $75 to $110 (includes meals; tent camping available). Scholarships available.
