Big Island scientific researchers from a variety of fields will gather at the University of Hawai'i-Hilo this week for the Big Island Science Conference.
The conference will highlight research by students and others, and give the students a chance to practice making presentations at scientific conferences, said Cedric Muir, a UH-Hilo visiting assistant professor of natural sciences.
Muir is organizing the conference with Dr. Marta de Maintenon, an assistant professor of marine science at the University of Hawai'i-Hilo.
The conference will be Wednesday and Thursday in the University Classroom Building (UCB) rooms 100 and 114.
Registration is $10 for each of the three days, which includes refreshments and an abstract of proceedings.
Each morning session starts at 8:30 a.m. The public is invited.
