Kop ahead by one in Army golf

Brandan Kop shot a 5-under-par 65 at Kalakaua Golf Course to take the second-round lead of the Army Invitational yesterday.

Kop, who shot par-72 in the first round at Leilehua Golf Course, is at 137. Senior flight golfer Merv Matsumoto shot a 71 at Leilehua yesterday and is at 138.

The final round for all flights will be played at Leilehua today.

Del-Marc Fujita (69 yesterday) and Ryan Masuda (71) trail Kop in the championship flight at 140. Spencer Shishido shot a 74 and is at 144, followed by Norman-Ganin Asao (76) at 145.

Michael Foster, playing in the senior flight, shot a 71 yesterday and was at 143.

Other flight leaders were Clifford Nishikawa (A) 73-146, Ed Jones (B) 79-152 and Sean Olena (C) 79-160.
