• Plans for the multimillion dollar public/private redevelopment of historic Ford Island will be outlined at an upcoming meeting of the INSTITUTE OF REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT, Hawai'i chapter. Featured speaker will be Capt. Stephen Barker, commanding officer of the Navy Public Works Center at Pearl Harbor, and regional engineer for the Navy Region Hawai'i. The mixed-use development, slated to pump $180 million into the local economy, will include new construction and adaptive reuse of ford Island historic structures, including museums. • Tech mergers, acquisitions and dispositions will be the focus of the next installment in a series of monthly THINKTECH LAW discussion series, sponsored by ThinkTech Hawai'i and the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Outreach College/Pacific New Media.
