BUSINESS BRIEFS
Firm expects to settle dispute

Advertiser Staff

A Hawai'i-based architectural firm expects its dispute with shopping mall developer The Pyramid Cos. to be resolved shortly.

Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo filed a lien against the developer of the proposed $2.2 billion Destiny USA megamall in Syracuse, N.Y., saying it was owed more than $300,000 for completed work.

Pyramid said it withheld payment because it was not satisfied with the architectural firm's work. Howard Wolff, senior vice president with Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, said Pyramid never communicated that it was dissatisfied with the firm's work.

But Wolff said the company hopes to settle the dispute amicably in the next few days and expects to be paid and the lien lifted.

HTA organizes advisory group

The Hawai'i Tourism Authority's strategic planning committee organized an advisory group of tourism industry leaders and is planning a tourism leadership forum open to the public this fall. The authority will gather input to revise its strategic plan.
