Retired chief executive officer of Alexander & Baldwin Inc.; founding member of Kona Community Hospital Foundation; member, board of governors, Hawai'i Preparatory Academy and Leeward Planning Commission; and worked with a number of other community organizations, including West Hawai'i Humane Society, Kona Outdoor Circle and CrimeStoppers. Survived by wife, Barbara; sons, Allen III and Steven; daughter, Anne; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Wainer.
