Forum to offer advice on Army subcontracts

Advertiser Staff

The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii and the Building Industry Association-Hawaii are holding a free forum Tuesday for small businesses interested in getting a portion of the Army's $1.7 billion contract to build and maintain 7,700 military homes on O'ahu.

The forum will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Ward Warehouse's Kaka'ako Room. The Army has selected Napa, Calif.-based Actus Lend Lease as its primary contractor for what has been called the largest housing project of its kind.

Tuesday's forum will focus on Actus Lend Lease's requirements for subcontracting work, including special and technical provisions. Actus representatives will attend the forum.
