Farewell to punk band Olivia

Get out of town and head for the country Saturday for Olivia's last show. The melodic punk-rock band — from left, Reed Cromwell, Christian Perreira, Justin Abilla and Gabe Watts — will be uprooting itself from the Islands and moving to California at the end of the month. Joining the band at this farewell bash will be The 86 List, Upstanding Youth, Vax, Dork and 2face4. Rock on at historic Hale'iwa Gym, 66-434 Kamehameha Highway, which is making a comeback as a hot spot for local concerts.

The all-ages show starts at 5:30 p.m., so you'll be able to catch the sunset, too. Cover is $5. This show is the second put on by the newly formed Unity Crayons, a nonprofit promotions team started up by 86-Lister Josh Hancock. 384-5706.

A seven-string guitar specialist

Ukrainian guitarist Sasha brings his Latin stylings to The ARTS at Marks Garage during "A Hot Taste of Flamenco/Latin Jazz." Appearing with him will be internationally renowned percussionist Petro Bass, who recently made Hawai'i his home. Sasha and his seven-string guitar make beautiful music together, showcasing a blend of ethnic melodies influenced by samba and flamenco but with a tinge of his Eastern European roots. Sasha has performed on the Mainland and in France, Germany, Belgium and Israel. Catch them at 8 p.m. Thursday, for $10. 521-9699.
