HOLES IN ONE
Aces tourney rules updated

Advertiser Staff

You don't need to have scored an ace to enter the Kalihi Education Coalition $1,000,000 Hole-In-One Challenge after all.

Last week's article in this section included information that has been updated.

Here is the correct information:

  • Any amateur golfer can qualify for a chance to win $1 million providing the golfer is at least 18 years of age, a United States citizen and a Hawai'i resident.
  • Every participant will have a chance to participate in the Million Dollar qualifier, a chipping contest, and putting contest for prizes on qualifying day.
  • There will be a minimum of 11 participants who will be eligible to participate in the finals and receive a shot at winning $1 million on Sept. 20 at Hawai'i Prince Golf Club. Each finalist will also receive a chip shot to win $10,000 and a putt to win $10,000.

Here's how to enter:

  • If you made a hole in one, submit a registration form with a $100 entry fee donation or register by Sunday. Walk-ins are acceptable. Golfers can also register on-line at www.kechawaii.org or call 220-2225 or 330-4693 for information. Hole-in-One golfers will be eligible to qualify for one of 10 slots for the Million Dollar Contest.
  • For golfers who don't have a hole in one, registration is not required. Contestants may just show up between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 30 or Sept. 6 at the Hawai'i Prince Golf Club. Cost is $10 per ball or $50 for six balls.

A $50 entry donation for golfers who haven't made a hole in one includes six shots from 125 yards to qualify for the final and participation in a chipping and putting contest for other prizes. Donations to the coalition are tax deductible.
