Wahiawa man injured in crash

A 19-year-old Wahiawa man was critically injured last night in a moped crash at Whitmore Village.Police said the man was driving a modified 1987 Honda moped at 7:20 p.m. on Kulia Street when hit a sign post at Kulia and Uakaniko'o streets.
The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the moped. His injuries include a fractured skull and left arm, police said.
The man was taken by helicopter to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
Police said speed appears to have been a contributing factor.
