Oceanic Cable channel OC 16 introduced a lineup of homegrown shows Wednesday that will make it "100 percent original, 100 percent local" during prime-time viewing, beginning Sept. 3. A preview at Windward Community College featured clips and live appearances by performers who will be seen around the clock on the "new" OC 16. New programs include:

  • University of Hawai'i coach June Jones as host and star of his own show, live from Dave & Buster's, with co-anchor Russell Shimooka.
  • "Mental Tilapia," an improvisational comedy game show with kids 8 to 11 participating, created by Ray Bumatai.
  • "Blood of the Samurai," a six-part series beginning Oct. 13.
  • "Hawaiian Classics," a music series looking back at the Hawai'i scene of the 1970s, '80s and '90s.

OC 16 will continue its OIA football coverage, along with "Tiny TV," with Tiny Tadani; "Local Kine Grindz," with Lina Girl and Braddah Sam; "Da Braddahs," with Tony Silva and James Roache; and "BumaVision," with Andy and Ray Bumatai.
