Strategies for the Wise Passenger, by Diana Fairechild; self-published, paper, $12.95
Diana Fairechild, a former flight attendant who lives and writes in Anahola, Kaua'i, has become a recognized expert on air-passenger issues. This is another in her "Jet Smart" series, launched in 1992. When the frequently revised series became unwieldy in size, Fairechild began dividing the books into separate volumes on specific subjects.
The latest release is quite specific, dealing with turbulence, terrorism, cardiac arrest, streaking and passengers who are too tall. Her "Jet Smarter, The Air Traveler's Rx," is a more comprehensive look at the environmental dangers of air travel (poor air, radiation, pesticides) and what to do about them. It is available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, Bestsellers at the airport and on Amazon.com. Fairechild's Web site is www.flyana.com.
