Advertiser Staff

A man was in critical condition at The Queen's Medical Center last night after a vehicle hit him as he was taking part in anti-drug sign waving in Ka'a'awa.

Fire Department rescue personnel said the vehicle hit the man at 51-484 Kamehameha Highway between Ka'a'awa Elementary School and a 7-Eleven store after the driver fell asleep. The vehicle ended up going off the highway and landing in the ocean. The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m.

The man was airlifted to Queen's from Swanzy Beach Park.
