WINDWARD

BYUH to host talks on drugs

Two meetings dealing with drug issues will be held at Brigham Young University-Hawai'i, including one for the Ko'olauloa community at 9 a.m. Sept. 6 in the college's Hawai'i Ballroom.

City Prosecutor Peter Carlisle and U.S. Attorney Ed Kubo will speak at the Sept. 6 meeting.

The second meeting, for the North Shore community, will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 9 in the college's auditorium.

The meeting will include Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona, who will solicit ideas to take to the lieutenant governor's statewide summit set for Sept. 15 to 17.


Wellness fair on tap at mall

Windward Lions will host a wellness fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Windward Mall.

The event will include free diabetes testing; screenings for body fat, blood pressure and vision; chiropractic exams; and ultraviolet rating tests on dark glasses.

Luk Tung Kung Association and Falun Kong of Chinatown will give exercise demonstrations.
