Tomori at par in qualifier

Hilo's Christel Tomori shot 1-under-par 71 yesterday and is tied for 20th halfway through the LPGA's Venice Qualifying School in Florida.

Tomori is at even-par 144 at the Plantation Golf Club going into today's third round. Kristy McPherson and Lindsey Wright are the leaders at 139.

Former Rainbow Wahine Denise Philbrick (77-148) made the cut by one shot. Hilo's Camie Hoshino (79-156) and former Hawai'i resident Sally Soranaka (76-152) missed the cut.
