Tonight's Must-See
"Boomtown," 9 p.m., NBC. The network has been switching "Boomtown" reruns a lot, frustrating viewers. Its announced plan, however, is to rerun this tense episode: In his final hours, a killer on death row gives McNorris (Neal McDonough) an ultimatum: Stop the killer's execution or a kidnapped cop on the outside will die.
Of Note
"Intensity" (1997), 5 p.m., Lifetime. People who find John C. McGinley charming in "Scrubs" are in for a shock here. He plays a nasty killer and kidnapper. Molly Parker is terrific as a young witness who must elude him.
Football, 7 p.m., ABC. More pre-season NFL football. This time the San Francisco 49ers take on the San Diego Chargers on the latter's home turf.
"The Bernie Mac Show," 7 p.m., Fox. In this rerun, Jordan wants a paintball gun.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 8 p.m., NBC. A corporate mogul has been killed and his son seems to be guilty. What perplexes cops, in this rerun, is whether the victim's wife an actress, played by Sherilyn Fenn was involved.
