Tonight's Must-Sees

College football, all day. On ABC there's a triple-header, which starts at 6 a.m. Games vary by region, but they conclude at 2 p.m. with Florida State at North Carolina or Washington at Ohio State. CBS counters at noon with Southern California at Auburn. Once you add all the cable and regional networks, it becomes an avalanche of summer football.

"Pillow Talk" (1959) 2 p.m.; "Send Me No Flowers" (1964), 4 p.m., Turner Classic Movies. Movie vaults have plenty of bad-bland Doris Day comedies, as you'll see during this all-day marathon. Still, these films with Rock Hudson are well above average. Both have clever writing. The four "Pillow Talk" writers won an Oscar for best original script. Both star Tony Randall and other top comedic talents in support. "Send Me No Flowers" was even directed by future Oscar-winner Norman Jewison. The result is, at the least, some classy fluff.

Of Note

"Julie" (1956), 6 p.m., TCM. After a day filled with Doris Day comedies, here is a nice, taut thriller. Louis Jourdan plays Day's crazy, killer husband.

"Race to the Altar," 8 p.m., NBC. Here is the fifth episode of this show where couples compete for the prize of an elegant wedding.

"Hack," 8 p.m., CBS. The older men in Mike's life reach crises. His father is severely ill and his priest has been suspended because money is missing.

"The District," 9 p.m., CBS. Noland is a customer in a convenience store that's robbed. Now his colleagues must consider him a suspect.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Ray Romano hosts. Zwan is the musical guest.
