Group presents faith leaders

Aloha Peace House, a nonprofit organization, is helping to sponsor lectures and events with two visiting faith leaders, Rabbi Eliyahu McLean and Rami Mahamid, who will discuss their peacemaking efforts in Jerusalem.

Events include:

  • The Interfaith Open Table, 7 to 8:30 a.m. Wed-nesday, Interfaith Gathering Open Table at the UCC Conference Center Board Room, 15 Craigside Place.
  • A panel discussion at the McCoy Pavilion, Ala Moana Beach Park, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10.
  • A question-and-answer session at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at Leeward Community College, Room GT105 for the second anniversary of 9-11, discussing the possibility of peace in the Holy Land.

Lecturer on church agenda

Jane Rubietta, a lecturer on church revitalization and author of "Quiet Places," will present a lecture at 7 p.m. in Komuro Hall of First United Methodist Church. A potluck supper precedes the event at 6 p.m.

Parking is available in the church's underground parking lot, 1020 S. Beretania St.
