Holiday puppet show
Here's a gift with strings attached:
When the Honolulu Academy of Arts holds its free annual Keiki Christmas Party, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, the highlight will be three performances of the children's play, "The Littlest Angel," an adaption of the holiday classic by Parasol Puppets, a professional puppet troupe from Missouri.
Space is limited for the puppet show, so get your free advance tickets early; they're available for pickup at the art museum's Beretania Street entrance from noon to 3 p.m. Performance times are 1, 2:15 and 3 p.m. in the new Education Gallery. Other activities include crafts and a storytelling Santa with a bag of goodies. Information: 532-8700.

Mickey with Santa? Barney, too?
Here's another reminder that costumed cartoon characters, including Mickey and Minnie House, Elmo, Barney, Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Taz, Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Sylvester and Dalmatian, will join St. Nick in Prevent Child Abuse's 17th annual "Breakfast With Santa" fund-raiser Dec. 13 and 14 at the Manoa Grand Ballroom of the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, 2454 S. Beretania St.
Two seatings are slated, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from noon to 2 p.m. both days. Cost is $17, which includes breakfast or lunch, a photo with Santa, live entertainment, appearances by the cartoon critters, and other fun stuff, from clowns to face-painting to games and a magic show by Monty's Magic Theatre.
