Caroline Ward Oda has been head of the school for girls since 2001. A search committee has been formed to find her replacement.
During Oda's tenure, St. Andrew's enrollment increased about 13 percent and the school became one of the first in the state to implement a wireless laptop computer program for grades kindergarten through 12, trustees said. Oda also raised the profile of Hawaiian studies at the school.
St. Andrew's Priory School was founded 136 years ago by Queen Emma Kaleleonalani of Hawai'i and Mother Sellon of the Anglican Church as an Episcopal school for girls.
