Sip, savor and shop at 'Mistletoe'

Advertiser Staff

Ballet Hawaii's "Mistletoe Magic," an evening of shopping, libations and tastings, is open to the public from 5:30 to 9 p.m. tomorrow only.

To be held in a kama'aina home in the Dowsett area, "Mistletoe Magic" features boutique gift items for holiday shoppers, as well as savories and sweets inspired by the "Nutcracker," the classic ballet to be presented Dec. 19-21 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall with international stars, a local corps de ballet, the Honolulu Symphony, a new set by Peter Dean Beck and new costumes by Anne Namba.

Included will be a wine and vodka bar, plus salmon and Chinese-inspired bao buns from Indigo restaurant. Sweets include Godiva chocolates and ice cream from Bubbies. Servers will be in costumes from "Nutcracker," such as Chinese Tea, Arabian Coffee and Spanish Chocolate.

This cocktail party with shopping showcases fine linens and pajamas by Livingston Williams, fashions by Namba (including men's shirts), beaded handbags from The Bag Lady, silver jewelry with semi-precious stones by Dennis Walker, and a ballet boutique with wreaths, tutus and sweets.

Admission is $35. Reservations: Judy Muncaster, 395-7216.
