2 victims remain in critical condition

A Kalihi man and woman remained in critical condition at The Queen's Medical Center last night after being struck by a car Friday on School Street.

Police said the 65-year-old man and 52-year-old woman were crossing outside of a crosswalk near the intersection of School and Amelia streets. They were struck by a 1987 Toyota Camry that was traveling east on School Street at about 9:20 p.m. The impact threw the pedestrians about 15 feet.



Suspect arrrested in avocado theft

A 35-year-old man accused of stealing hundreds of pounds of avocados was arrested Thursday. Police said the man took 385 pounds of avocados from a Kane'ohe farm on Nov. 24. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft and released pending investigation.
