Police arrested a 39-year-old man yesterday after the stabbing death of a woman at Ulehawa Beach Park in Nanakuli.
The man and woman appeared to have been a couple, and both are thought to have been homeless, police said.
The woman's age was not available.
The man and woman were staying in a tent on the beach when other campers heard them arguing early yesterday.
At about 5 a.m., someone notified police, who discovered the body of the woman lying near the shoulder of Farrington Highway, police said. Police said she had a stab wound to the neck.
Police found the man at the campsite and arrested him for investigation of murder.
Authorities said they had not yet identified the woman. Bystanders said they knew her as "Stella," but did not know her last name.
