Inoue injured in Super Brawl defeat

Advertiser Staff

Jason Miller of Las Vegas defeated Hawai'i's Egan Inoue in Super Brawl XXXII Friday night at the Blaisdell Arena.

Miller (10-3) was awarded the victory after Inoue (14-6) suffered a rib injury at the end of the second round and could not continue.

In the co-main event, Japan's Masanori Suda defeated Shannon Rich by a choke-hold submission in the first round.

Suda is the Super Brawl and world Shooto champion at 185 pounds, but a rematch with Inoue may be in jeopardy because of Inoue's loss. Suda defeated Inoue for both titles in May.

Inoue was fighting Friday for the first time since that loss to Suda. Friday's bouts were supposed to serve as a set-up for a championship rematch between Inoue and Suda.

In preliminary bouts: Ivan Jennings and Ryan Lee fought to a draw; Harvey Nakamura defeated Stephen Palling by unanimous decision; Brandon Keene defeated Mike Bauer by submission in the third round; Bryan Pardoe beat Sam Bass by submission in the first round; Ray Seraille defeated Tyler Lecky by submission in the first round; Justin Mercado beat David Yeung by submission in the first round.
