Tube Notes

Tonight's Must-See

"ER," 9 p.m., NBC. This hour returns to the Congo, which was the setting for its powerhouse season-opener. Carter (Noah Wyle) is there practicing medicine against steep obstacles. Now we see his romance with a native AIDS worker. Thandie Newton, who starred in OMission Impossible 2," plays her. With flashbacks, we see their evolving romance.

Of Note

"Tru Calling," 7 p.m., Fox. Tru pretends to be a high school student in order to learn the secret of a tragic car crash.

"Friends," 7 p.m., NBC. This rerun has some great moments. In the main story, Ross behaves as if Rachel and Joey's relationship doesn't bother him. But soon, he's drinking heavily and acting strangely. Meanwhile, Phoebe's brother has a strange request. And in some hilarious bits, Chandler says all the wrong things when visiting a family.

"Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time" (2003), 8 p.m., Disney Channel. If you haven't seen this surprisingly good cartoon movie yet, catch it now. It time-travels backward and forward, finding clever moments along the way.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. Grissom disagrees with the sheriff on the cause of a car bombing.

"Will & Grace," 8 p.m., NBC. Barry Manilow plays himself in an episode that has Will scrambling to get concert tickets.

"Scrubs," 8:30 p.m., NBC. J.D. tries to slow his fast-growing relationship with Danni (Tara Reid). Meanwhile, Turk and Cox have an ethical dispute over a transplant.

"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, a neurosurgeon has disappeared after she went for a jog.
