How Hawai'i hotels are faring

O'ahu led all islands in hotel occupancy at 68.4 percent for the week ended Saturday, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC. Statewide occupancy increased slightly to 63.7 percent . Maui's occupancy reached 63.2 percent, a 19.7 percent gain from last year, while room rates dropped slightly to $162.06. Kaua'i saw an increase in occupancy to 60.2 percent, while room rates remained flat at $131.50. The Big Island experienced a slight increase in occupancy to 50.3 percent.
