Yellowman/Fishbone concert moves to town
Surf fans and non surf fans alike can revel in the musical stylings of reggae legend Yellowman, left, and ska/fusion legend Fishbone, right, at the Bud Light Surfer's Big Bash, 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Saturday at Volcanoes Nightclub. The concert was originally scheduled for a Hale'iwa site that was damaged by the recent rains.
Also on the bill are local bands Neken, Hot Rain and Amplified.
Tickets are $21 advance, at Breakers Restaurant, Hawaiian Island Creations stores and the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Campus Center; $27 on Saturday. All tickets sold before the venue change will be honored at Volcanoes. 528-7071.

A world beat, and kids, too
The multicultural dance band Shaka Jambe, with a big assist from students from various schools, gives a concert 7-8:30 p.m. today on the grounds of Kahala Elementary School. The band, made up of nine musicians, vocalists and dancers, blends modern genres with tribal and indigenous traditions for an energetic and colorful performance. Kristian Lei is a guest vocalist. Los Tigres Del Norte on tour
The Grammy Award winning band Los Tigres Del Norte returns for a three-island tour beginning Monday on the Big Island, continuing Wednesday on Maui and ending Thursday in Honolulu. The ensemble, which has sold more than 32 million records and has performed to sold-out crowds throughout the Mainland and in Latin American and Europe, made its Hawai'i debut in 1999. It specializes in Spanish-language tunes about the lives of regular, working-class folks.The shows:

Sedaka concert is sold out
Were you lucky enough to get tickets to the Neil Sedaka acoustic concert at the Hawai'i Theatre? Good for you! The show is sold out, so savor that walk down memory lane with the hitmaker known for songs such as "Calendar Girl," "Sweet Sixteen" and "Breaking Up is Hard To Do." The concert begins at 7:30 tonight.
In focus: high school videos
"The Symptoms," a public service announcement by Chad Brown, a senior at Wai'anae High School, is one of the films to be shown in the Second Annual Rough Cut Video Festival, 7 p.m. Saturday at The Art House at Restaurant Row. The event enables high school students to exhibit and expose their motion picture works in a big-screen theatrical setting. In its second year, submissions have nearly tripled to more than 50 entries from public and private schools, from Wai'anae to East Honolulu. Awards will be given (categories include feature, documentary, PSA, music video and experimental) and a grand prize winner chosen by judges Don Brown and Genie Joseph. Admission is free. View lights, sights by trolley
You want to tour the Honolulu City Lights extravaganza but don't really feel like hoofing it. Driving can be a pain, too, as you snake along with all the other cars and must pay more attention to traffic than to the holiday attractions. There is a solution: Trolley tours. You board, relax and let the oohs and ahhs begin.
- Aloha Tower Marketplace offers free trolley rides with any purchase at any shop or restaurant. The trolley leaves every half-hour from 7 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 25. Advance reservations at the Guest Services kiosk (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.) are suggested. 566-2337.
- Buy a meal, get a free trolley ride from The New Eagle Cafe (1130 N. Nimitz Highway, A-100), 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays through Dec. 30. 545-2233.
- The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center in Waikiki offers trolley tours at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. through Dec. 19; and at 7:30, 8 and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 20 to 24. Tickets are $15 general, $8 kids; $9 adult kama'aina, $4 kama'aina kids 4-11; free for keiki 3 and younger, sitting on an adult's lap. 591-2561.
After the trolley tour, riders can use their boarding passes to visit gingerbread displays via the yellow or pink trolley lines at sites including the Outrigger Reef Hotel, Renaissance Ilikai Hotel, Pacific Beach Hotel, The Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel, Tiki's Grill & Bar at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel and the Sheraton Moana Surfrider.
- The annual trolley tours from Ward Warehouse are scheduled every half-hour from 6:30 p.m. through Dec. 30 (no tours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day); ending times vary each evening. Tickets are $3 general, free for kids 3 and younger. Kids shorter than 45 inches must be accompanied by an adult and must purchase cabin seats for safety's sake. Buy tickets in person at the Ward Warehouse information booth. Trolleys depart from the Ward Warehouse bus stop on Auahi Street, in the canopy area.
