BYUH volleyball players are all-region

Brigham Young-Hawai'i's Chun Yi Lin and Yu Chuan Weng have been named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II Pacific Regional volleyball all-star team for the second straight year.
Lin is a sophomore middle blocker from Pingtune, Taiwan. Weng is a sophomore outside hitter from Hsinchu, Taiwan.
Hawai'i Pacific outside hitter Flavia Brakling, a sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was selected to the regional's second team.
Lin, who earned national player of the week honors earlier this season, was fourth nationally in hitting percentage (.465) and led the Pacific West Conference in blocks (1.16 per game) while finishing second in kills (4.43 per game).
Weng, who was the NCAA II Freshman of the Year last season, finished sixth in the PacWest with 4.08 kills per game.
Brakling averaged 4.17 kills and 2.43 digs per game while earning first-team all-PacWest honors.
Players selected to the regional first team will be listed on the Daktronics All-American national ballot. The All-America team will be announced Dec. 19. MORE HONORS
UH golf: University of Hawai'i' senior Matt Kodama has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's golfer for the month of November. Kodama, who is from Las Vegas, finished ninth at the UH/Turtle Bay intercollegiate to help the Rainbow Warriors to a share of the tournament title.
Kodama maintains a team-best 70.7 stroke average.
UH swimming: University of Hawai'i freshman Nicole Mackey has been named Western Athletic Conference swimming and diving Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Mackey, who is from Los Alamitos, Calif., competed at the Texas Invitational over the weekend.
She swam a Rainbow Wahine season-best 2 minutes, 2.19 seconds in the 200-yard individual medley prelims, finished sixth in the 200-meter individual medley finals in 2:20.73, turned in an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 100-yard backstroke prelims in 55.40, and placed sixth in the 100-meter backstroke finals in 1:05.26.
WEIGHTLIFTING
Five set world records: Five Hawai'i weightlifters set AAU world records at the AAU Bench Press and Deadlift World Championship.
Three hundred athletes competed at the meet in Laughlin, Nev., on Dec. 6 and 7.
The Hawai'i winners and their records were :
Dean Yamada, masters division (40-44), 424.5 pounds in the bench press;
Lyle Kamaka, masters (45-49) 490.5 in bench press;
Ata Edralin, open, 363.8 in bench press;
Al Fritz, open, 633.8 in deadlift;
Eric Shimomi, masters (40-45), 534.6 in deadlift.
Yamauchis strike silver: Brothers Bryce and Kyle Yamauchi won silver medals in their respective weight classes at the American Open Weightlifting Championships, which was held Dec. 5 to 7 in Atlanta. Bryce Yamauchi lifted 95 kg (209 pounds) in the snatch and 120 kg (264 pounds) in the clean and jerk for a total of 215 kg (473 pounds).
Kyle Yamauchi lifted 107.5 kg (237 pounds) in the snatch and 130 kg (286 pounds) in the clean and jerk for a total of 237.5 kg (523 pounds). The Yamauchis were members of the 2003 Junior World Weightlifting Team. PREP FOOTBALL
