Honolulu employers expect to "hire at a strong pace" during the first quarter of next year, said Manpower Inc.
The staffing-services agency said 30 percent of the area companies it surveyed planned to hire more employees while 7 percent said they would reduce their workforce. Another 60 percent said they would maintain current levels and the rest said they were not certain of their hiring plans.
Job openings appear best in construction, transportation/public utilities, wholesale/retail trade, education and public administration, the agency said.
