• Mike O'Neill, a member of Gov. Linda Lingle's education advisory committee, said he supports the committee's education reform recommendations. O'Neill said there may be some midcourse corrections or tactical changes to the reform plan as it moves forward. A Local News story posted yesterday said O'Neill believed that Lingle and the committee would consider compromise, which O'Neill said mischaracterized his position.

• Morgan Stanley senior vice president Paul C.T. Loo has been promoted to executive director. An item in the Business briefs posted yesterday was incorrect.
