Abrams scores 29 to lift HPU to first win of year

Aaron Abrams scored 29 points and Audrius Peciukas 17 as Hawai'i Pacific routed Notre Dame de Namur (Calif.), 83-65, Tuesday night for its first victory of the season.
HPU is 1-7, Notre Dame de Namur 5-7.
Peciukas had a game-high 16 rebounds and Abrams added 13.
Jason Billie scored 17 to lead Notre Dame de Namur.
Hilo wins: Ryan Abrahams scored 32 points and Joe Travis 17 to lead Hawai'i-Hilo to a 96-75 victory over Wayne State (Neb.) Tuesday night in the AmeriSport Coconut Coast Classic at Hilo's Afook-Chinen civic auditorium. Hilo is 7-2, Wayne State 6-5.
Abrahams hit 12 of 15 field-goal attempts and was 6 of 6 in free-throw shooting.
Derek Archer scored 19 for Wayne State.
In another game, Cal State Monterey Bay defeated Milligan College, 70-61.
Chaminade falls: Justen Naughton had 17 points and 15 rebounds as Cal State-Los Angeles defeated visiting Chaminade, 60-58, last night. Chris Acker made 8 of 12 shots, including 6 of 8 from 3-point range, to finish with 22 points for Chaminade (1-4). Dustin Mittelsteadt added 10 points.
