How Hawai'i hotels are faring

The Honolulu Marathon helped drive a 7.8 percent increase in hotel occupancy in Waikiki for the week ended Saturday, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC. Statewide hotel occupancy increased 10.5 percent to 65.1 percent. Statewide room rates also showed a gain of 7.5 percent from the prior year to $129.23. O'ahu led all islands with a 71.4 percent hotel occupancy because of the marathon. O'ahu's room rates also showed a gain of 7.6 percent to $115.28.
