Wood really rolling with 'Rings'

Elijah Wood plays Frodo in "The Lord of the Rings." Wood has grown up on the screen, playing little boys and restless teens.

Elijah Wood's first acting role was in Paula Abdul's music video "Forever Your Girl." He was 8.

His first notable part was in "Avalon." Wood has grown up on the screen, from playing little boys in films such as "Forever Young," "The Adventures of Huck Finn" and "North," to restless teens in "The Ice Storm" and "The Faculty."

While filming the latter movie, he heard about director Peter Jackson's plan to film J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Wood won the role of hobbit Frodo Baggins. "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" opens in theaters this week.
