Four treated after helping fight fire

Advertiser Staff

Four men were treated for smoke inhalation after they helped extinguish a fire that damaged a Pearl City apartment last night.

The fire at 906 Lehua Ave. was reported at 6:34 p.m. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found four men battling the blaze from a third-floor balcony and inside the unit, said fire spokesman Capt. Kenison Tejada.

The fire was confined to the rear of the living room, but the entire unit suffered smoke damage, Tejada said. Damage was estimated at $100,000 to the building and its contents.

The American Red Cross was called to assist two women and a 7-year-old girl.
