Aloha offers Island-hop discount

Frequent fliers: Aloha Airlines is offering discounts for AlohaPass members who book their Neighbor Island travel on the Internet in a "private sale." Fares begin at $59 one way, compared with $74 .50 (7-day advance purchase) if you book by telephone or in person.

The lowest fares, at $59 and $69, are restricted — subject to fees ($12-$26) if you change your plans. One-way coach fares of $79 and $89 and $99 first-class fares are unrestricted. A stop en route, even to connect to a flight at Honolulu, adds a $5.50 charge each way for federal security and segment fees.

AlohaPass members can combine these Web-only fares by choosing a restricted fare in one direction and an unrestricted ticket on the way back, when they may want flexibility.

The fares are available to members of the AlohaPass frequent-flier program who book and pay for their tickets at www.AlohaAirlines.com at least one day before travel. Anyone can join the carrier's frequent-flier program at no charge online.
