BYU-Hawai'i basketball knocks off North Illinois

Jake Chrisman scored 31 points and Michael Stowell added 21 as Brigham Young-Hawai'i beat Northern Illinois in the BYU-Hawai'i Surf 'N Slam-Hawai'i Tournament last night at the Cannon Activities Center.
The NCAA Division II Seasiders (8-2) made 22 of 26 free-throw attempts, while the Huskies (4-5) converted just 4 of 6.
Perry Smith scored 20 points to lead Division I Northern Illinois of the Mid-American Conference.
In another game, San Jose State (5-3) beat Baylor (4-6), 79-64, behind 19 points from Brett Lilly.
MORE BASKETBALL
Chaminade loses: Alan Batiste scored 18 points to lead five Fort Lewis players in double-figures as the Skyhawks beat Chaminade, 84-79, last night in the consolation game of the State Farm Roadrunner Classic at Bakersfield, Calif. Fort Lewis (Colo.) made 31 of 54 field-goal attempts and scored 23 points off turnovers. The Skyhawks improved to 6-3.
Kashif Reyes made 6 of 10 3-point attempts and scored 25 points for Chaminade, which fell to 1-6.
Lewis beat Cal State Bakersfield, 61-55, in the championship game.
VOLLEYBALL
Men's season tickets on sale tomorrow: University of Hawai'i men's volleyball season tickets go on sale tomorrow. Tickets may be purchased at the Stan Sheriff Center box office, over the phone at 944-2697 or over the Internet at www.etickethawaii .com.
The box office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays.
Ticket prices are as follows: $115 for upper level-adult; $100 for upper level-senior citizens; $50 for upper level-ages 4-18, UH students and UH student Super Rooter.
The Warriors first match will be against the alumni Jan. 2. Their regular season starts Jan. 8 at home against Penn State.
MEETING
QB Club: Three former Farrington High School football players from the 1960s will be the featured speakers at tomorrow's weekly meeting of the Honolulu Quarterback Club. Cliff Laboy, Onosai Tanuvasa and Wayne Saito will speak at the Pagoda Ballroom.
Laboy and Tanuvasa also played for the University of Hawai'i.
Laboy is the father of UH defensive end Travis LaBoy, the 2003 Western Athletic Conference Defesive Player of the Year .
Tanuvasa is the head football coach at Pearl City High School.
