Man arrested in stabbing

Police today arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion that he stabbed his girlfriend with a kitchen knife during an argument last night at her Ho'omalolo Street home in Pearl City.

The woman, 32, is in critical but stable condition today at The Queen's Medical Center with multiple stab wounds, police said. Officers responded to the womanâs home shortly before 11 p.m.

The woman's mother and two brothers were also injured. The mother, 55, suffered knife cuts on both hands while one of the brothers, 32, was stabbed in the back, police said. Both were taken to Queen's. The other injured man was treated at the scene.

Their assailant fled but was later arrested at his Kamehameha Heights home.


Pair suspected in shoplift case

A woman and girl were charged yesterday by police for allegedly shoplifting over $1,000 worth of items from a Duty Free Shoppers store in Waikiki on Saturday.

Dalyn Molinaro, 40, is charged with second-degree theft. Her bail at $15,000. The girl, 16, is charged as a juvenile with the same offense.

A third woman, 26, was arrested at the same time for allegedly shoplifting designer sunglasses. She was booked for second-degree theft but was later released.


Kidnap, beating prompt arrest

Police arrested a 27-year-old Mililani man yesterday on suspicion that he kidnapped and beat a woman last week.

The woman, 21, told police her former boyfriend struck her on the head and knocked her unconscious Wednesday during an argument at a Mililani-area apartment. The woman, who was found on a roadway, was treated for internal head injuries, a broken nose and ruptured eardrum, police said. The man was booked for first-degree assault.


Man charged in sexual assault

A 43-year-old 'Ahuimanu man was charged yesterday for sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend in her Kane'ohe home on Friday.

Alvin Park is charged with two counts of first-degree sex assault and one count of second-degree sex assault. His bail totals $50,000.


Off-road victim dies of injuries

A 22-year-old Kahuku man injured in an Oct. 19 off-road motor vehicle accident died Saturday morning at The Queen's Medical Center. The medical examiner's office has identified the man as Leif Leiataua.


Man charged in escape, robbery

HILO — Prison escapee Brian Lee Patrick was charged Saturday with robbing Bank of Hawaii's KTA supermarket branch in Keauhou, Kona, on Christmas Eve.

Patrick, 32, was captured Friday in Hilo. He was charged with escaping from the Hale Nani Correctional Facility on Tuesday as well as the bank robbery. His bail for the two alleged offenses totals $32,000.
