One person was hospitalized in critical condition and 10 others in serious condition after a chain-reaction wreck on Likelike Highway last night.

The 5 p.m. accident closed the highway between Kamehameha IV Road and School Street. Authorities said at least seven vehicles were involved.

A man in critical condition was taken by ambulance to The Queen's Medical Center, along with four other adults in serious condition, said Mandy Shiraki, a district chief for Emergency Medical Services.

The others were taken to Kuakini Medical Center, St. Francis Medical Center and Kapi'olani Medical Center, he said. All of the injured, except for one teenager, were adults.

A pregnant woman was among the victims.

All lanes of Likelike Highway in both directions remained closed late last night.
