HPU stops Doane, 81-68

Marvin Noble scored 23 points and Aaron Abrams added 17 to lift Hawai'i Pacific to an 81-68 college basketball victory over Doane College at Mid-Pacific gymnasium last night.

Hawai'i Pacific improved to 2-8 while Doane, of Crete, Neb., fell to 7-8. HPU plays in NCAA Division II; Doane is an NAIA member.

Audrius Peciukas led HPU with 10 rebounds.

In games involving Hawai'i's Division II teams tomorrow, Chapman (Calif.) University plays at Chaminade and Southwestern (Kan.) College plays HPU at Mid-Pacific. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.

Doane plays at Chaminade at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
