New leadership at Maui L&P

Don Young, who served as Maui Land & Pineapple Co.'s acting chief executive earlier this year, is retiring this week.

Young's responsibilities as president and chief executive of Kapalua Land Co. Ltd. and executive vice president of Maui Land's resort and commercial property business units will be handled by David Cole. Cole became president and CEO of Maui Land in October.

Young will serve as a Maui Land consultant as the company revises a master plan for its Kapalua resort.

Nonprofit sells Nu'uanu site

Foster and adoptive care service provider Casey Family Programs has sold its Honolulu property at 1848 Nu'uanu Ave., according to broker Colliers Monroe Friedlander.

The nonprofit, which in January announced it would cease Hawai'i operations after it finishes serving about 100 children, will occupy the building on Nu'uanu Stream for two years under a lease with the buyer, Hawaii Conference Foundation.

Hawaii Conference Foundation is an affiliate of the Hawaii Conference of the United Church of Christ. A purchase price was not disclosed, though the city values the property at $2.3 million for property tax purposes.
