Charges filed in sexual assault

A 19-year-old Nanakuli man was charged yesterday with nine counts of third-degree sexual assault against an 11-year-old girl.

Reuben P. Escuadro-Lee is being held on $35,000 bail.

The assaults allegedly occurred between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31, according to police.

Crash victim, 50, still hospitalized

The 50-year-old woman critically injured Tuesday after her car was struck by a man falling from a Waikiki hotel remains hospitalized at The Queen's Medical Center.

Hospital officials have declined to comment on her condition, which the police described as critical on Tuesday.

The man, 40, died after he fell or jumped from a unit in the Ohana Maile Sky Court, 2058 Kuhio Ave., and struck the woman's white mini-van.

Man hurt when car strikes truck

A 23-year-old man is in guarded condition today at The Queen's Medical Center after his car struck a garbage truck at Kaiaka Beach Park.

The accident happened shortly before 7 a.m.

Fire and ambulance paramedics responded; fire dispatchers said the victim suffered head injuries. He was taken by helicopter to Queen's.
