UH softball tournament altered by rain

The opening day of Hawai'i's Chevron Paradise Classic softball tournament was postponed yesterday because of rain.

A revised schedule has been set for today through Sunday.

The Rainbows will play Louisville at 6 p.m. and Oklahoma State at 8 p.m. today. Tomorrow, they will play Santa Clara at 6 p.m. and Washington at 8 p.m.

There is no admission charge for UH softball this season.

• UH's Kai honored: University of Hawai'i forward Natasha Kai was named to the freshman All-America third team by Soccer Buzz Magazine yesterday.

She also was named to the magazine's freshman All-West Region team.

Kai, of Kahuku, was the Western Athletic Conference player and freshman of the year this past season.

She set league records in points (23) and goals (10) as well several team records.
