Celebrations

Angie Freitas of Ka'a'awa celebrated her 60th birthday with a dinner hosted by her children, Dorothy Mahoney and Moani Fields; her grandchildren; and her sister, Florence Cabrera, on Dec. 14 at Outback Steakhouse in Waipi'o. Freitas was born Dec. 13, 1942, and is a retired hula teacher.

Edward and Beatrice Jim of Kalihi celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner given by their children, Edward Jim Jr., Sandra Kirschner, Janice Ishiara and Patrick Jim, on Nov. 23 at Hee Hing Restaurant. The Jims were married Nov. 23, 1942, at St. Theresa's Rectory in Honolulu. They have four children and seven grandchildren.

Davin Michael-Akeakamai Madden of Waialua celebrated his first birthday with a lu'au hosted by his parents, David Madden and Angela Naone-Madden, on Jan. 11 at the Hawai'i Okinawa Center. Davin was born Jan. 10, 2002.
