UH men's volleyball team regains No. 1 ranking

The defending national champion University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team has regained the top spot in the USA Today/American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 15 Poll, which was released this morning.The Warriors received eight of the 16 first-place votes and 228 points to secure the top ranking they held for the first two polls.
UC Irvine, which was No. 1 for the past two weeks, fell to second, receiving one first-place vote and 211 points.
Pepperdine, which leads the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, is third, earning five No. 1 votes, followed by Brigham Young and Lewis. BYU had the other No. 1 vote.
Ten of the 12 MPSF teams are in this week's poll, and UH has played or is scheduled to play all but one of the ranked teams.
The Warriors will play host to Cal State Northridge Thursday and Friday in the Stan Sheriff Center. The Matadors shook up the pool with a surprising victory over UC Irvine last Friday.
