Advertiser Staff

For the second time this season, Brigham Young-Hawai'i men's basketball player Scott Salisbury was named Pacific West Conference Player of the Week for his performance against Chaminade on Friday.

The 6-foot-8 senior center recorded a statistical double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a 94-71 conference road win.

Salisbury, who leads the PacWest in rebounds (10.6 per game), also had three blocked shots, three assists and two steals.

He was named PacWest Player of the Week in December.

The 21 points gave Salisbury 1,001 for his career, making him just the 11th player in BYU-Hawai'i history to score at least 1,000 points or more in a career.

Meanwhile, the Seasiders (12-2 overall, 6-1 PacWest) climbed in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II national rankings this week from No. 20 to No. 19.
