THE LEFT LANE
Brushing up for your Valentine's Day

Advertiser Staff and News Services

To put a little va-va-voom in Valentine's Day makeup, Revlon and Maybelline have introduced collections in time for the holiday.

Maybelline's Be-Mine collection includes a nail enamel called Candy Heart with tiny hearts floating through it, as well as powder blush with a little heart imbedded in it (pictured). An innovative loose-powder eye shadow in soft pastel shades (Pink of Me and I Lilac You) comes in a roller, for easy application.

Inspired by the romantic film "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," Revlon's Instant Attraction collection features several classic colors, such as Cherries in the Snow, Love That Red and Pink in the Afternoon, in a new package that has a lipstick on one end and a matching lip gloss on the other.

Revlon is also featuring limited-edition nail enamels spiked with glitter in festive shades such as Crimson Shimmer and Silver Sparkle.

Massive print run set for Harry Potter book

POTTER
The "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" book, hitting stores June 21, has already set a record as the highest-priced new children's novel in history. Scholastic Children's Books, the U.S. publisher, has announced a suggested retail price of $29.99.

The record price and epic length (700 pages) of the book haven't stopped the publisher from expecting extraordinary sales. "Phoenix" has a first printing of 6.8 million copies.
