'Ewa Elementary School's celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birthday yesterday included hula around a maypole and the draping of lei over the campus' statue of the 16th U.S. president. This year's Lincoln Day program had the theme "Live Aloha" and was dedicated to former principal Irene Nakamoto, above, who retired in December 2002. Among well-wishers was Nazeehah Khan, who greeted Nakamoto with a hug. |
