Hilo loses to Billings on road, 93-78

Freshman Cameron Munoz scored 29 points, including nine 3-pointers, to lead host Montana State-Billings to a 93-78 victory over Hawai'i-Hilo yesterday.

The first half featured 23 lead changes and 12 ties, including a 44-all halftime tie after Dan Thompson hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the Yellowjackets (14-6, 7-4 PacWest).

The Yellowjackets have won eight straight.

Kyle Abrahams finished with 22 points and Ryan Bartholomew added 17 for Hawai'i-Hilo (15-7, 7-3).



• Chaminade 97, Western New Mexico 79:
Leon Ballard scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Silverswords (10-12, 5-5 PacWest) beat the Mustangs (3-18, 1-10) at Silver City, N.M.

Jaborri Thomas added 18 points and Byron Sykes 14 for Chaminade.

The Silverswords made 32-of-54 field-goal attempts and held a 41-28 rebounding advantage.
